Impactathon

Achieving impact is hard. It rarely fits into the time you have, and the path from result to real-world use is obscured by a system that does not reward the work of getting there. Eunovus is on a mission to make that path visible, so pursuing real-world impact strengthens your academic career instead of competing with it.

This is where the Impactathon comes in: a structured, in-person working session that helps early-stage research teams sharpen their impact pathway to produce more competitive funding applications.

How it works

We shape the focus of each session together. Whether your research group wants to explore funding trajectories, partnerships, spin-out formation, or another path to impact, we will design the content so the roadmap reflects what you need.

1. Intake: Each participating researcher completes a short survey ahead of time. From public data and the survey, we prepare a first-draft valorization profile for their project.

2. Working session: Held in person, typically 2–4 hours depending on the scope of the session. Project teams work side-by-side, refining their profiles with the help of facilitators.

3. Impact roadmap: By the end of the session, your team will have produced a structured valorization roadmap that aligns with your research and impact goals.

4. Outcome: Every team leaves with a clearer valorization profile and a first impact roadmap they can act on.

Who it's for

Researchers are the stars of the show. We encourage participation from research teams at universities, university medical centers, and research institutes who value both academic and real-world impact, and want practical, personalized, hands-on guidance on how to achieve it.

Institutional funding and valorization support providers can also participate, as facilitators. Doing so gives them visibility among researchers earlier than the point when they'd normally seek assistance, a first-row seat to the specific obstacles researchers are struggling with on their path from result to real-world use, and insight into which high-potential projects are being driven by researchers actively pursuing real-world impact.

Why are we doing this at no cost?

The Impactathon is a learning opportunity for us too. Each session shows us where researchers get stuck on the path from a research result to real-world impact, and gives us a place to validate tools that address those specific obstacles.

We're able to do this at no cost to participating institutions and research teams because it's part of an MIT feasibility project funded by the Province of Zuid-Holland.

What we learn shapes the digital tooling we're building next, so that it is designed to simplify building a credible impact pathway, enabling more researchers to get this kind of support without needing a facilitator in the room.
